COVID-19 Updates – 24 March, 2020

Laos and Myanmar confirmed their first infected cases of coronavirus on 23 March. Each country has now reported 2 infection cases.

 

In Thailand, from 22 March, several popular tourist sites including Grand Palace and Wat Traimitr in Bangkok, and Wat Rong Khun (White Temple) in Chiang Rai have been closed.  On the same day, all shopping malls, cinemas and many public spaces in Bangkok are closed. Also effective 22 March, it is required that all travelers must have an insurance with a coverage of 100,000 USD and a medical certificate at check-in, obtained within 72 hours of travel date, certifying that they are COVID-19 free including for transit connections. Moreover, Thailand government declared the “emergency situation” will be applied from this Thursday, 26 March.
