COVID-19 updates in Vietnam – 10 March 2020

3/10/2020 6:19:30 AM

As we informed to you yesterday, the visa-free travel for citizens of Denmark, Norway, Finland, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Germany, France and Spain was temporarily canceled. This preventive measure is implemented after 18 new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in Vietnam in the last 4 days, from 6 to 10 March.

So from 10 March, travelers entering to Vietnam must apply for visa before departure either at the Vietnamese Embassies in their countries or Aurora Travel will apply the Visa on Arrival Approval Letter (VOA) for them. With the printed VOA, the travelers can on board the planes.

To apply for the VOA, we need the clients’ copies of international flight tickets and passports. Travelers are also advised to bring 2 passport photos. There is an option to take photo at airports, but clients have to pay for the fee.

In this particular situation, Aurora Travel will bear all the cost of the VOA application fee and Visa Assistant at Airports for the clients. To help clients at airport, Aurora Travel will offer the Visa Assistant service at airports on arrival. Our representative will meet clients near the Visa on Arrival counter. With this, our clients will be hassle-free during these sensitive days.

However, on arrival, the clients will have to pay for the entrance fee of US$25 for single entry and US$50 for multiple entries.

Clients travelling to Vietnam can file medical declaration either before boarding via website or by scanning the QR code provided at the point of entry with their phone.

On arrival, clients will be checked the temperature. And if they have any symptoms of illness, they will be quarantined for 14 days. In this case, they have to bear all costs, depending on how serious they are.

Up to date, some cultural sites are closed for sterilizing. In Halong Bay, some cruises are quarantined while some other cruises are out-of-service and docked at the port for safety guarantee. As a result, Aurora Travel will revise the tour itineraries, replace with other tourist attractions and using other Halong Bay cruises instead.

The list of sites and cruises depends on the Vietnam authorities and it may be changed very often, even hour by hour. Hence, we are solving case by case on spot to ensure the clients’ comfort and they can visit places similar to original programs. We also will update you immediately if there is any change in the policy of the government.
